Parent Information

I am a very creative positive person who is always looking for new and exciting things to do and create with my day care children.  I believe children learn through postive guidance, hands on experiences, play and by observing others.  My daily schedule always includes things to help the children learn and grow in all areas of development including intellectual, social, physical, emotional and moral. I care for my daycare children the same way I care for my own children.  In a safe, loving, respectful enviroment that offers them plenty of opportunities to grow and shine!

Field Trips/Outings

There is a public park within walking distance to my house that we will be using on a regular basis.  Occasionally we will be going on field trips such as the library, early years centre and special communtiy events.  You will be made aware of these trips in advance and asked to sign a permission form for any trip that is NOT in walking distance.  If you are uncomfortabe with your child attending any field trips, you may make other arrangements for child care on field trip days.  This will NOT use any of your vacation/sick days.

Vacation/Sick Days

Each child has 10 vacation/sick days per year to use for unscheduled days off.  After the 10 days you will be charged your regular daily rate for any days off that you do not give proper notice for.  In order to not use up your vacation/sick days you are asked to give at least two weeks notice prior to taking time off or before ending your childcare contract.

Alternate Care Persons

I have two back-up providers who are able to watch the children in my home if I have a short appointment that cannot be made outside day care hours. Both of them have had criminal reference checks.  You will be made aware of any appointments as soon as possible and if you choose to make your own alternate arrangements for the day, it will not use up any of your vacation/sick days.

Illness

Please keep your child/children home if they have fever or diarrhea until they have been symptom free for 24hrs.  If your child is unable to participate in our regular daily routines due to any illness, please keep them home until they are feeling well enough to do so. If you choose to bring your child in when they are ill and I send them home, you will still be required to pay for a full day of care.
